Samsung to Make 100 Million 5.5-Inch Oled Displays for 2017 iPhone

Apple has for some time been rumoured to shift from use of LTPS (low-temperature poly-silicon) LCD (liquid crystal display) panels on its iPhones to flexible organic light emitting diode (Oled). A report earlier this year said that Apple may rely on Samsung to be the sole supplier of flexible Oled displays to the company. A Chinese report now claims that Apple has signed a contract with Samsung to get 100 million 5.5-inch Oled panels for 2017 iPhone. It adds that both the companies have agreed for a 3-year contract.

Zuckerberg Launches Remodeled Messenger

Expanding on Facebook's embrace of video and communication as a transformative tool, CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Tuesday launched the company's new Messenger platform beta at its annual F8 conference for developers. The Messenger announcement was the first major initiative in the long-term vision he presented.
Zuckerberg outlined a major push to incorporate artificial intelligence and bots into the Messenger platform. The revamped service will allow companies and individuals to develop more sophisticated and personal experiences through Messenger than ever before, ultimately transforming the app into a major communications and marketing tool.
"Messenger is going to be the next big platform for sharing privately," Zuckerberg told conference attendees.
More than 900 million people around the world and 50 million businesses use Messenger to communicate every month, he noted. Facebook already has started working with various businesses to help them build deeper relationships with their customers, and it now is opening up the platform to include bots and the send/receive API.

Video Takes the Wheel

We are entering the "golden age of online video," Zuckerberg added, noting research findings that show Facebook users file 10 times more comments in response to video than to ordinary photos.
In some cases, public figures have been able to develop a bigger audience using video on Facebook than they attracted to their own television shows, he noted.
"Facebook is making a global push with messaging to make it a global platform and destination for all types of businesses," said Brian Blau, a vice president atGartner.
"With bots, they want to enable businesses to have a more direct and personal connect with their own customers," he told TechNewsWorld, and with the use of "automated response and interaction technology, backed by deep learning and artificial intelligence, those bots will become very personal and human-like."
Facebook can bring a number of new features to the table using the new Messenger bots, David Marcus, vice president of messaging products at Facebook, noted in a blog post.
The bots will be able to deliver a range of messages -- from weather and traffic updates to customized receipts, shipping notifications, and live automated images specifically tailored to individual customers.
"Messenger API and the ability to integrate video and instant messaging into the social interaction will transform Facebook into a global telecommunications player," Frost & Sullivan Research Manager Michael Jude told TechNewsWorld.
The Messenger send/receive API support will let developers and businesses build bots for Messenger. Facebook has developed Messenger codes, user names and links to help find people on Messenger, and to make it easier for people to find businesses.
"Using bots to power customer interaction allows businesses to scale to handle many customer issues without relying on large call centers," Tirias ResearchPrincipal Analyst Kevin Krewell told TechNewsWorld.
Despite the ambitious plans, it may prove difficult for Facebook to get a large number of customers to switch from their existing messaging habits, suggested Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group.
"This is where Facebook's lack of marketing skills will likely hurt their ability to make progress," he told TechNewsWorld, "because they have to build demand for Messenger, and building demand currently isn't one of their strengths."

Facebook Spans the Globe

Zuckerberg also outlined a number of long-term initiatives to grow the company over the next decade, with one of the most ambitious being an effort to expand access to the Internet in the developing world. Nearly 4 billion people don't have access to the Internet because they either lack the infrastructure or the ability to pay. In some cases, they have access to both but don't see the urgency.
Facebook is developing lightweight, solar-powered aircraft that will be able to fly at 60,000 feet above the ground and provide high-speed Web access to population centers in Africa and other regions of the developing world. The aircraft, which has a wingspan wider than Boeing 737 -- but weighs less than a car -- can stay up in the sky for months at a time and beam Internet signals to the ground.
The company also has built a tool called "augmented traffic control," part of an effort to help telecommunications companies provide Internet at an affordable price so that they can offer basic services for free. The initiative is already under way in 37 counties and reaches more than 30 million people.
Facebook's Account Kit, another newly launched product, will help customers avoid a routine many hate -- choosing usernames and passwords to sign up for websites. The tool will make it possible to use a single phone number or email, to be authenticated with a code.

PANAMA LEAKS: SIT TO INVESTIGATE INDIANS OVER BLACK MONEY

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the black money today said it will investigate thoroughly the reported secret list of about 500 prominent Indians including actors, politicians and businessmen who have allegedly stashed money in offshore entities in tax haven Panama.
"Investigations are being carried out. We are going to investigate it (the list) thoroughly," SIT Chairman Justice (retd) M B Shah told PTI.
Asked if the SIT had any information on these names, he said the panel got it today.
"No. We got the information just now," he said.
The Vice Chairman of the panel, Justice (retd) Arijit Pasayat, said they have asked agencies like the Enforcement Directorate, IT Department and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence to make an assessment of the list and prepare a report in this regard.
"We want to know what is the truth behind these. The SIT did not have these reports. Maybe, the investigative agencies had. So, once they submit a report to us then we can take the required action," Pasayat said.
The list has been brought by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in collaboration with news publications across the globe including India and pertains to offshore investments made by Indians between a period of 1977 and 2015.
The latest list, after similar ones came in the the past like 'Swiss leaks' and the HSBC-list related to Indians, claims it has sourced data in connection to millions of documents which show heads of state, criminals and celebrities using "secret hideaways" in tax haven country of Panama.
However, ICIJ adds a disclaimer that there are also "legitimate uses for offshore companies".
"The Panama papers expose the internal operations of one of the world's leading firms in incorporation of offshore entities, Panama-headquartered Mossack Fonseca. The 2.6 terabytes of data that make up the Panama Papers files were obtained by German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung and shared with ICIJ and more than 100 media partners...
"ICIJ will release the full list of companies and people linked to them in early May," the ICIJ said on its web portal as it called the leaks "The Panama Papers"

Jonty Rhodes reveals why named his baby daghter ,india

Jonty Rhodes was an south african cricket player but he named his baby daughter ,india

The legendary South African fielder enjoys as much fan following as Indian cricketers after joining Mumbai Indians as its fielding coach.
Now, by naming his daughter India, he has only taken his love for his 'second-home' a notch higher.
Speaking to mid-day after a Mumbai Indians training session at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, Rhodes (45) explained why he chose to name his daughter India.
"I have spent a lot of time here. What I love about India is that it's a rich mix of culture, heritage and tradition. It is a very spiritual country, very forward-thinking nation. I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life.
Best of both worlds
"With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance," an excited Rhodes said, before he took off on his Royal Enfield Bullet bike.
The former South African legendary fielder's wife Melanie gave birth to a baby girl at Surya Mother and Child Care Hospital in Santacruz on Thursday.
The baby delivered through water birth was born at 3.29 in the afternoon, and weighs 3.7kg. "What we really like about India is that everyday we discover something new about this country. As people, we like discovering things about yourself and that's hopefully what she (the baby) will also discover," added Rhodes.
Rhodes said his wife had no issues with naming their daughter after a country.
"She really enjoys coming to India. She's learnt yoga. She loves the fact that you can go from mountains to oceans… there is a lot of diversity (in India). So, we weren't really concerned (about naming her India)," said Rhodes. However, he is not the first player to name his child after a country.
Not the first
West Indies batting legend Brian Lara named her daughter Sydney after scoring his first Test century in the Australian city, while former New Zealand pacer Dion Nash also named his daughter India.
"So, we are not the first ones. In fact, there are some kids in South Africa (too) named India. But I have my reasons to give her this name. It's more to do with the cultural and traditional diversities of India," Rhodes signed off.

Do You Know who invented copy and paste

This is the  man who invented the copy/cut and paste

Despite the fact that I learned to use a computer before copy and paste was a feature (my parents purchased an Apple II E when I was a kid and I printed out my first papers on a dot matrix), I cannot imagine life without it.
My beloved CTRL X, CTRL V and CTRL C are an essential part of my writing process. For example, I am accustomed to including whatever texts I’m responding to (such as instructions for an assignment or a detailed email) in a working document until I’m finished to minimize errors and misunderstandings.
But, like so many things that were pretty much handed to me without my having to give it much thought, I never really thought about the origins of Cut, Copy, and Paste. Since I first used it on a family computer when we eventually upgraded to a Macintosh desktop, I (wrongly) associate it with Apple. The person most widely credited with Copy and Paste, Larry Tesler, did work for Apple starting in 1980. However, he created the command while working for Xerox Palo Alto Research Center at some point between 1973-1976
He was developing GYPSY, the first document preparation system.
But there is always more to this type of story, right? The concept was inspired by the pre-Computer-Age practice in which manuscript editors literally cut out sections of text (usually with editing scissors) and then paste them onto a new page. Although this method decreased in popularity with the advent of the photocopier, it was still popular enough in the 1980s that the term “cut-and-paste” was a great way to introduce the computer command to its users.
For most early adopters, the earliest they recall using this type of computer system command (being able to duplicate and move sections of text with the cursor) is in WordStar, introduced in 1978, or WordPerfect, a program that enjoyed widespread popularity from the late 70s all the way into the early 2000s.
What’s particularly interesting to me about this origin story is that it’s almost the reverse of the way technology advancements are credited today. Larry Tesler and Tim Mott may have originated the concept of Cut and Paste in Palo Alto in the mid-70s, but it wasn’t popularized until programs like WordPerfect put it into widespread use. Today, the names that are most often used in conjunction with the beginnings of a certain technology are most often tied directly to its success. For example, in perhaps the most popular movie about social technology thus far, Jesse Eisenberg’s Mark Zuckerberg says to to the Winklevoss Twins: “If you guys were the inventors of Facebook, you’d have invented Facebook,” which feels true in this instance, too (even if it also feels unfair). If having an idea makes you the inventor, than this discussion should start much further back than who founded Facebook; what about MySpace and Friendster?
Right now, Larry Tesler is considered the inventor of Cut and Paste technology in the industry’s very brief history. However, I wonder if time and our preference for crediting those who managed to monetize an invention will eventually supplant his name with the company that first popularized the function with WordPerfect, Satellite Software International (SSI)?

Best of Oscars 2016

The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious Awards in the Entertainment industry. This Sunday Night was all set to embrace you in its red carpet as the 88th Academy Awards or commonly known as “Oscars” were being hosted in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The Oscars 2016 was hosted by actor Chris Rock, who hosted the show for the second time.
The nominations were announced on 14th January 2016 and it took many of us with a storm. We saw Mad Max: Fury Road getting insane 10 nominations but “The Revenant”tops the list in nomination as the “Leonardo DiCaprio” starrer movie got 12 nominations. Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu got back to back nominations for Best Director, Birdman in 2015 and The Revenant in 2016.
The 88th Academy Awards were also very controversial, as people blamed that Oscars are“Anti-Diversity”. There weren’t many people from minorities who got nominated in the Oscars and this thing pissed off many people. For days, there was rage against Oscar nominations, which was trending on Twitter with hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. By the way, the host of Oscar 2016 “Chris Rock” is also a minority and he even took a jive on this by saying “the white People’s Choice awards”.

Top 8 Big Winners of Oscars 2016

Best Original Score

This is probably one of the most prestigious awards for any Music Director. Like every year, this year was also full of incredible music, which can freeze the time for you, which can take you to a galaxy far far away. Music composers compromise their sleep, their life and their family to achieve the impossible and Academy honors them with the prestigious award.
This year was full of competition, with Legendary Music Director John Williams also in the race with his epic “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” score. The five times Academy Award winner was looking to grab his sixth. Thomas Newman was also nominated for the incredible music he gave for the Steven Spielberg movie “Bridge of Spies”. 46-year-old Jóhann Jóhannsson who made us fall in love with his music in movie “The Theory of Everything” was also on the list for his latest music in movie Sicario.

But the one who grabbed the trophy is 82 years Old Italian composer who gave music for the movies “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A fistful of Dollars” and many other legendary western classics. He has been nominated Six times for Oscars in his life time but in 2016 he reached to the highest point. Ennio Morricone won the Academy Award of“Best Original Score” for his epic music in Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight”.

2. Best Animated Feature Film

Animated movies are not just for children, they have a very deeper meaning and they are as powerful as any real time movie. Animations have reached to new heights from past few years and we can clearly see that in movies.
This year the award for “Best Animated Feature Film” was one of the toughest as it saw “Anomalisa” which is a stop-motion comedy-drama film which tells us a story which we will never forget. The list also got “Shaun the Sheep Movie”, it might sound little childish but the story of Shaun and his flock who goes to big city t save their farmer who is suffering from amnesia will definitely melt your heart.

There were many movies in the list but we were all sure that this year award for “Best Animated Movie” will go to heart wrenching and literally full of emotions “Inside Out”. We know how amazing Pixar is when it comes to make animated movie and Inside Out is definitely their top notch movie ever. It tells you a story of “Emotions inside your head”and by the end of the movie you will be in tears.

3. Best Supporting Actress

Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Meryl Streep and Maggie Smith have won this prestigious award. And by the winners you must have understood that how competitive this award can get. Even this year it was a neck to neck fight between the actresses to win the Best Supporting Actress Award. The Queen of all hearts “Kate Winslet” was nominated for the movie Steve Jobs where she absolutely nailed the role.
It isn’t easy to work in a Danny Boyle movie but Kate Winslet did the justice with the role. Rooney Marla, one time “Best Actress Award” nominee was also nominated for the “Best Supporting Actress” for the movie “Carol”. Rachel McAdams was also a big name in the list, she got applause for her high profile role in HBO’s “True Detective” and after that she is her in the list for the movie “Spotlight”. The movie is great and her acting is awesome, both have taken journalism to a cool level.

As we all know that “Best Supporting Actress Award” isn’t easy t get and you never know who is gonna take this year. Alicia Vikander is a 27 year old Swedish actress who has won this year’s “Best Supporting Actress Award” for her role in “The Danish Girl”.

4. Best Supporting Actor

Before we go into the details let me tell you the nominations for this year’s “Best Supporting Actor” Mark Rylance for movie Bridge of Spies directed by Steven Spielberg,Christian Bale for movie The Big Short, Tom Hardy for his epic role in The Revenant, Mark Ruffalo in one of the best movie on Journalism Spotlight and Sylvester Stallone playing Rocky in movie Creed. Now you know that how hard it can get to pick the “Best Supporting Actor”. Each one of them is a legendary actor and has done a legendary role in these movies. Picking one is not justice with rest of them but still only one can be on top spot.

Mark Rylance won the “Best Supporting Actor” award in Oscars 2016 for his mind-blowing acting in “Bridge of Spies”.  He played a role of real-life Russian spy “Rudolf Abel”and I am pretty sure if the real life “Rudolf” had seen him play his role he would have given him a standing ovation.

5. Best Director

The Best Director list is full of big names. It isn’t easy to make a movie and it is definitely not easy to get a nomination for the “Best Director” in Academy Awards. Tom McCarthy who is a decent actor but a great director, he is on the list with his movie “Spotlight”.
The movie is based on newspaper investigation journalist unit which investigates the case of child abuse in the Boston area by Roman Catholic priests. He has made look journalism cool again, maybe after “All the President’s Men”, “Spotlight” is the movie which do justice with the journalism. Another big name in the list is “Geroge Miller” for the movie Mad Max: Fury Road, he has directed the Mad Max franchise and this year h is nominated with the lasted Mad Max movie which is also termed as “The Greatest Action Films of All Time”.

Alejandro G. Iñárritu took the last laugh; he won the “Best Director” award in 88thAcademy Awards. This is second time winning the Oscar and he has done in back to back years. He is the third director to achieve this feat, after John Ford and Joseph L. Mankiewicz. In 2016, he won the “Best Director” award for “The Revenant”.

6. Best Actress

Don’t worry this time Meryl Streep is not in nomination but still without her the list is full of talent and beauty. The youngest “Best Actress” Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence is also nominated for the movie “Joy” where she played the role of “Joy Mangano” and it is not hard to believe that she ruled the show.
Australian actress “Cate Blanchett” also got a nomination for the movie “Carol”, she has already won two Academy Awards and got nomination for the seventh time. Saoirse Úna Ronan, the 21 year old Irish-American actress got nomination for the movie “Brooklyn”, this was not her first nomination, in 2008 she got nominated for “Best Supporting Actress” for movie “Atonement”.

This year belonged to youngsters, half of the nominated actresses were below 28 and the winner is just 26, The “Best Actress” Award won by Brie Larson for her amazing role in movie “Room”. Her role in 2015 movie “Room” left many critics speechless and gave many award juries an easy choice to pick her.

7. Best Picture

Remember that “The Shawshank Redemption”, “Taxi Driver”, “Vertigo”, “A Clockwork Orange” and “It’s Wonderful Life” never won the Oscar for the “Best Picture”, I know you are surprised that soo great movies have never won the “Best Picture”. Well that’s Academy Awards for you. They are very very tough. Every year many great movies fight to be in the list, but only a few make in the list and only one wins the “Best Pictures”.
This year was also very pack with “Mad Max: Fury Road”, “The Revenant” and many others. Every movie was a master-piece. “The Big Short” which is directed by Adam McKay is one of the best biographical comedy-drama film, not just the story even cast of the film is epic, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt.
One of the most awaited movie of 2015 was “Bridge of Spies”, this movie got the dynamic duo of “Steven Spielberg in Direction and Tom Hanks in Acting”, everything is epic when we got these two. Another in the line is “The Martian”, a movie where an astronaut is trapped on Mars. If you haven’t watched it yet then watch is asap, the movie got Drama, Thrill and comedy by Matt Damon.

It wasn’t easy for jury to choose the “Best Picture” but they chose, “Spotlight” a brilliant and truth revealing movie by “Tom McCarthy” which tells a story of journalist investigating a case of Child abuse by Roman Catholic priests. This movie has left its mark on the history and culture.

8. Best Actor

One of the most awaited Award of the evening. Every year we guess who is gonna win the“Best Actor” Academy Award and in the big talented list of actors we see someone extra ordinary taking the Oscars home. “Jack Nicolson”, “Ben Kingsley”, “Denzel Washington” and “Marlon Brando” have won this prestigious award but there is another side also, “Johnny Depp”, “Tom Cruise”, “Harrison Ford” and “Robert Downey Jr.”have never won an Oscar.
This year four out of five actors have never won an Oscar. Eddie Redmayne is nominated for the second time and this time with more powerful role in “The Danish Girl” where he is playing the role of Lili Elbe, one of the first recipients of “Sex Change Surgery”.
Walter White aka “Bryan Cranston” also got his first ever Oscar nomination for his role of “Dalton Trumbo” in movie “Trumbo”, we know how hard hitting acting “Bryan Cranson” can do and he has proved it one more time. Matt Damon got nominated for The Martian andMichael Fassbender got his second nomination for playing the Apple CEO and Visionary Steve Jobs.

After soo many great performances this year he received “Best Actor” Academy Award and he is “Leonardo Dicaprio”, yes he won this time we are not pulling “Steve Harvey” on you.Leonardo DiCaprio won the “Best Actor” Academy Award 2016. He got this award for playing the role of “Huge Glass” in movie “The Revenant” directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu. At last this year was Leo’s, he was nominated for four times in this category but every time someone else got the cake but this time it was Leo.
“Mad Max: Fury Road won most awards this evening with a count of Six Academy Awards while The Revenant and Spotlight won three awards each”.
